POLICE have closed off a Southampton street to investigate a rape allegation.
Officers cordoned off an area of Regent Street off of Ogle Road in the city centre after an allegation of rape was reported to them last night.
A police car was parked at the entrance of the street and police tape was put up blocking off the walk way under the underpass.
The alleged attack is reported to have occurred on the street at around 10.30pm yesterday.

Officers are conducting enquiries in the area and an investigation is on going.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "Officers have been conducting enquiries in Regent Street, Southampton, following an allegation of rape, reported to police last night, 28 June.
"An investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
"Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in this area around 10.30pm last night is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44200236639."
