A SOUTHAMPTON based voices club hasn't let the lockdown stop them from singing, as members have been meeting virtually.

The Brendoncare Southampton Voices Club, run by Winchester based charity, Brendoncare Clubs, is "delighted" to be meeting virtually with members, after the physical club temporarily closed due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Weekly virtual meetings are being enjoyed by existing Brendoncare members, and new members are also being invited to join in the fun.

Led by Tamsin Brainwood, the ‘Voices’ instructor, new material is regularly introduced so members can progress and learn.

Sara Nicholls, Brendoncare Locality Manager, said: “We have a lot of fun together. It’s great to use our vocal chords again. We have all missed seeing each other and it’s good to see everyone enjoying themselves. It’s not like meeting in person, but the next best thing!”

The club

Brendoncare staff are also helping members who want to join in with the virtual club, but who don't yet have the skills, confidence with technology, or the equipment to do so.

Before lockdown, the Club met every Saturday from 9.45am until 11.00am, at Oasis Academy Lords Hill, Romsey Road, Southampton, but now anyone who wants to join in with the virtual sessions are encouraged to get in touch by emailing clubs@brendoncare.org.uk.
