Hopefully the new temporary bicycle lanes on Hill Lane will be judged by usage on a daily basis - currently this is pitifully low.
Banning ‘racing’ bikes from Luccombe Road and the paths on the Common might help and the latter would sit well with Lindsi Bluemel who is keen to ensure that the rights of pedestrians are respected.
Currently bikes race through the Common with total disregard for anyone else.
Eliminating parking on Hill Lane may create issues on adjacent roads - a simple solution would be to classify these roads as residents and disabled parking only.
This would encourage able bodied visitors to the Common to leave their cars at home eliminating associated emissions.
