OFFICERS have seized an estimated £140k worth of cannabis following a drugs warrant at a marijuana factory in Eastleigh.
Police carried out a pre-planned drugs warrant at 7.46am yesterday on Dutton Lane where they discovered a cannabis factory in a rented property.
The amount of cannabis seized from the property is believed to have a street vale of around £140,000.
Although there were no occupants present at the time of the warrant, officers have since arrested a suspect who remains in police custody at this time.
Officers who carried out the warrant have said they carried out the warrant following information from the local community.
In a post on Twitter, Eastleigh Police said: "Following Community Intelligence we have executed a drugs warrant, disrupting a cannabis factory in Eastleigh.
"[We do listen] please keep the information coming in (not via Social Media)."
They added: "The owner of this property is going to return to find his house in a terrible state, unlikely to be covered by insurance.
"Please make sure you know who you’re renting to."
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police confirmed that officers executed a warrant at 7.46am on Wednesday, July 8.
They continued: "A cannabis factory was located within the property and assets with an estimated street value of £140,000 were seized as a result.
"No occupants were present at the time of the warrant, but we have since arrested an occupant and they remain in police custody at this time."
