A SOUTHAMPTON man has been handed a suspended sentence for breaching a restraining order.
Matthew Antony Albert Wearn, 27, was handed a restraining order on January 23 this year banning him from attending an address in Renown Gardens in Waterlooville.
On March 14, Wearn attended the address without a reasonable excuse.
The court heard how this was a "deliberate breach" of the recently imposed restraining order and that ir caused "damage and distress".
While at the address, he damaged floor tiles and sofa cushions of an unknown value.
Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to breaching his restraining order and one count of damaging property.
Wearn, of Orpen Road, Southampton, was committed to prison for six months suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122 and court costs of £85.
