LIFEBOAT crews rushed to a Hampshire harbour after a crash involving two boats.

One vessel had crashed and got caught on a mooring line attached to a catamaran at Langstone Harbour.

Crews from Gosport Lifeboat Station were at the scene in three minutes on Sunday, and attempted to reduce how fast the boat was sinking.

But despite efforts to slow down the rate of sinking, it became impossible to rescue.

And while the vessel was rapidly going deeper into the water, an anchor was attached to the boat to prevent it from drifting in the strong currents.

It was also marked to warn other vessels of the danger at the Hayling Island site.

The second vessel involved was safely removed from the situation and taken for damage inspection at a local marina.

It was the third boat rescue of the weekend attended by Gosport Lifeboat crews. The team confirmed nobody was injured.
