THREE people have been arrested after a multi-vehicle crash in Southampton.

Police and South Central Ambulance Service were called to the collision, which occurred in Kendal Avenue, Millbrook, yesterday.

A police spokesperson said a Volkswagen Golf was travelling "at speed" when it crashed with two parked cars.

They added: "A 29-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent and drink-driving.

"A 21-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.

"A 29-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent.

"All three remain in police custody at this time."

A witness said a White VW Golf clipped one car, lost control and smashed into two parked cars before damaging a third.

The witness said a woman in one of the parked cars was injured. She is thought to have been getting out of the vehicle when the accident happened.

Social media users in the area reported seeing police and at least one ambulance at the scene.
