THEY’RE the Romsey floral firm who made an incredible £369,000 donation to NHS charities during the coronavirus crisis.

But, not content with that, they also decided to brighten up their local community hospital with a giant floral display.

Eflorist, a national florist based in the market town, put together the beautiful 1.5m by 1m blooms, which are now proudly displayed in the main reception area of Romsey Hospital for staff and patients to enjoy.

They wanted to thank staff who have been working throughout the pandemic.

Eflorist regional director Paul Isaia said: “Last month we raised £369,000 for the NHS Together Charities so following on from that this floral display is about putting a smile on the faces of the local NHS workers who have been keeping vital services running during this time. Romsey Hospital is a lifeline for many Hampshire residents and this is our way of saying thank you for all their dedication and hard work.”

As the Covid-19 crisis took hold, Eflorist bosses pledged to donate £1 for every bouquet sold to NHS Charities Together, the organisation which represents, champions and supports the work of more than 140 member charities to the tune of £1 million per day.

On placing an order, customers were also offered the chance to nominate an NHS hero to receive a surprise bouquet of flowers.

Business has been booming during lockdown. Paul puts that down to absence making the heart grow fonder.

He added: “I believe it is where people cannot see their loved ones and flowers are an emotional product and a great way to show people you care.

“Over Easter, you would go round to your parents and bring them presents, as well as a bouquet, so flowers are a nice way to pick someone up.

“Flowers are a great way to make someone’s day.”

Eflorist delivered their first bouquet of flowers back in 1947 and the firm hasn’t slowed down since.

Each bouquet is carefully designed with the lucky recipient in mind and same day or next day delivery is available on the entire range.

Eflorist is also committed to supporting growers in farming communities across the world and choosing British growers where possible. They also support the high street, working closely with over 1,500 florist members who craft and hand-deliver their bouquets each day. There are florists all over the country, ensuring minimal travel for the flowers which then look their very best.
