TODAY will see the local Muslim community celebrate the day of Eid al Adha at Southampton Medina Mosque.
Eid ul Adha is one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar and marks the loyalty and obedience shown by Prophet Ibrahim to Allah.
Southampton Medina Mosque is setting up to welcome up to 1,000 local worshippers at the mosque, which had to decrease its capacity for safety measures.
It has also increased the number of prayer congregation times from two slots to three, to take in to account social distancing.
All worshippers will be required to bring their own prayer mats, bags for keeping footwear with them, and will be required to clean their hands with hand sanitiser as they enter the mosque.
