POLICE have raided two homes as part of a crackdown on drugs.

Officers swooped on two properties in Parham Road, Gosport last night.

The following people were arrested and remain in custody at this time:

  • A 59-year-old man from Gosport, arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply
  • A 47-year-old man from Gosport, arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply
  • A 51-year-old woman from Fareham, arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply
  • A 43-year-old man from Gosport, arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray)
  • A 40-year-old woman from Gosport, arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray)
  • A 41-year-old man from Essex, arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray)

According to Hampshire Police, the raids were part of the 'Fortress Campaign'.

The campaign aims to tackle the "supply of drugs, reducing demand and rebuilding communities".
