A TOTAL 12 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Southampton this week.

The latest figures released by Public Health England have revealed that a further 12 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Southampton - up by one compared to the 11 people who tested positive in the city last week.

But across Hampshire, infection rates have been going down with less positive tests recorded this week when compared to the figures last week.

In Eastleigh, three new people tested positive for the virus compared to seven positive cases last week.

In the New Forest, the rate stayed the same with three people testing positive this week and Winchester showed the same results with two people testing positive this week.

One person tested positive for coronavirus in Fareham this week, down by two compared to two positive tests recorded last week.

In Gosport, three people tested positive for the virus down by one compared to two positive tests recorded last week.

Portsmouth also saw a drop in infection rates with two people testing positive this week, compared to the four people who tested positive this week.
