AFTER reading an article in the Echo recently,I am tempted to wonder where Giles Semper, among others, is wearing his mask.

Whether we like or loathe the motor car it is part and parcel of twenty first century life.

Lately we have been encouraged to 'go electric' with the council boasting of installing electric charging points, minimal numbers in places unknown.

Park and ride? A joke.

Now we have cycle lanes and a reduction in overpriced parking.

The trustees of our city talk of pedestrians and a traffic free environment while closing their eyes as to how these pedestrians might access the city.

Grandiose schemes of the past, East Street and the Marlands have failed, shops in West uay lie empty, the public in the city carry few shopping bags.

Covid masks? No,blinkers more like.
