TWO cyclists have been left with serious injuries following a hit and run incident.
Two men cycling on the Newgate Lane flyover in Fareham were hit by a white Volkswagen Crafter.
The driver fled the scene following the crash at around 7.30pm last night.
The cyclists, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man - both from Paulsgrove, Portsmouth - were rushed to hospital.
They both suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police have now launched an appeal to trace the drive.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.28pm yesterday, 2 August, to reports of a collision on the Newgate Lane flyover, Fareham, after a white Volkswagen Crafter was in collision with two cyclists.
"The Volkswagen failed to stop at the accident and had left the scene prior to police arrival.
"The two cyclists, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man both from Paulsgrove, were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.
"They are considered serious but not life-threatening.
"Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with the reference 44200290626."
