FOUR people have been arrested in connection with drugs and weapons offences near Basingstoke.

Around 45 officers were involved in executing the warrant on July 31 at Betjeman Walk, Yateley; Moore Close in Church Crookham and Lower Common, Eversley.

Officers seized cannabis, cash and various weapons including a handgun, crossbows, baseball bats, various knives and air rifles.

Two men from Yateley, aged 29 and 42, a 29-year-old man from Church Crookham and a 30-year-old woman from Cardiff were arrested.

They were all arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

All four have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Inspector Phil Mayne said: "We would like to thank the community for their patience while we carried out these warrants on Friday morning.

"There was obviously a large police presence in the areas concerned."
