A MAN has been given a driving ban after he was caught with more than double the drink drive limit.
Paul Bruce, of Hamble Lane, Hamble, drove a Vauxhall Astra on Coxford Road, Lordswood, after consuming alcohol.
The 52-year-old was found with 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
However, the legal drink drive limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Bruce pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving.
He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £250.
Bruce was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
