THERE are long delays on the A31 and M27 heading westbound as motorists head to the New Forest and Dorset.
With the heatwave set to continue over the weekend, thousands of people are making the trip to the south coast to enjoy the summer weather.
However, journey times are being extended due to the volume of traffic on the roads.
Hampshire travel service Romanse reported "heavy delays coastbound" on both the A31 and M27.

Meanwhile, traffic services are reporting journey times of more than 45 minutes from junction 4 of the M27, where vehicles join from the M3, to Ringwood.
