PLANNING chiefs have rejected proposals to build a house in the New Forest National Park.
The National Park Authority refused to support an application relating to a parcel of land north west of Dene Lodge in Vaggs Lane, Hordle.
The applicants had sought consent for a detached dwelling plus an air source heat pump and a sewage treatment plant.
Comparing the proposal to a previous application a report to NPA members said the overall size of the building had increased and it would now be set closer to the road.
It added: "The proposed dwelling would fail to reflect the rural character of the area.
"No information has been provided about the noise levels which would be generated by the proposed air source heat pump.
"Because of the low background noise levels of the site, and the proximity to the boundary of the neighbouring property, it would not be possible to rule out a harmful increase in noise levels which would potentially be detrimental to the living conditions of the occupants of the neighbouring property."
