AN ARSON investigation has been launched after a fire tore through a derelict farmhouse.
Firefighters scrambled to tackle a blaze at an old building in North Stoneham Lane in Eastleigh.
Crews from across the area fought through Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday.
However, the three-storey "building couldn't be saved".
But now, police have confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious.
The scene is "part of a criminal investigation into arson".
According to Hampshire Police, a cordon will remain overnight as officers continue to conduct a joint investigation with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Anyone with any information about the incident or who saw anything suspicious is urged to call police on 101, quoting 44200312057
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services reported that support vehicles from Beaulieu, Romsey, Basingstoke with additional appliances from Bishop's Waltham and Alresford were used to relieve the firefighters who had been working through the night.
Due to concerns about the building collapsing, inspectors were on the scene making assessments.
