I THOUGHT there would be more control over who can ride e-scooters, the latest fad being promoted.
Having just seen two boys of 13-14 years zooming up the road side by side, baseball hats and hoodies and no protective clothing. let alone a helmet, obviously not!
These kids are not only dicing with their own lives but also that of others – pedestrians and motorists alike.
I`m also judging that no form of insurance is required to own one either.
Having previously worked in a centre for disabilities that had clients with head injuries, it still aggrieves me to see people not only riding bikes with no protective helmet but now with youngsters, with their whole lives ahead of them, taking unnecessary chances riding these e-scooters.
No doubt they are great fun to ride but it doesn't take much to permanently damage your brain by a reckless act of stupidity.
