A VAN driver has 'wiped out' a serving hatch at a Hampshire fast food restaurant as he drove the 'wrong way' down the drive-thru.

A witness has described the moment he saw a van drive the wrong way through the drive-thru at Burger King in Hedge End, 'wiping out' one of the serving hatches and damaging his own van.

Mr Dajlid was leaving Symths Toys when he saw the incident.

Daily Echo:

He explained how the van caused around "30 to 60 minutes" of disruption due to becoming stuck as he attempted to get through the drive-thru the wrong way.

He said: "The driver literally drove down the wrong way in the drive thru and wiped out the serving hatch.

"Instead of him reversing back he carried on going and tried to fit underneath the height restriction barrier, he made a complete mess of it.

Daily Echo:

"All the Burger King staff were outside trying to free him from the drive-thru."

"I believe more property was damaged whilst he was trying to drive around the height barrier.

"The entrance was closed to the public due to health and safety reasons."

The Daily Echo has contacted Burger Kind and is waiting for a response.
