WINCHESTER Skoda has supplied a tenth car to The Blue Lamp Trust to support its driver training service.

The Hampshire-based car firm has been working with The Blue Lamp Trust for almost four years helping it provide driver and safety training to professionals.

Mark Mills-Goodlet, managing director at Winchester Skoda, said: “Supporting the elderly and vulnerable has never been as important as it is now during this tragic pandemic. The services offered by The Blue Lamp Trust are a lifeline to so many across the county and it is vital that they can continue.

“Winchester Skoda is delighted to be able to support this amazing trust again and we hope the new vehicle helps them to aid even more individuals in the surrounding areas.”

Theresa Pratt, chief executive of the trust, said: “The Blue Lamp Trust is very grateful for the support of Winchester Skoda. The car is invaluable in enabling us to offer advanced driver training to businesses in Hampshire, which we have restarted as the restrictions have been eased.

“In these challenging times driver training is a key fundraising strand to allow us to fund the Bobby Scheme, which provides free home safety and security visits, long-life smoke alarms and advice to vulnerable people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, particularly the elderly, victims of burglary and domestic abuse.”
