Our officers are currently investigating the encampment, making regular visits as part of their routine patrol plans while working closely with New Forest District Council in order to resolve this issue.

"We, along with the New Forest District Council, continue to monitor the impact on the site from an environmental impact, and take appropriate action where necessary.

"Anyone wishing to report any suspicious activity or a crime, can do so via our online reporting tool on the Hampshire Constabulary website or by calling 101.

"Please remember that if a crime is in progress, the suspects are at the scene, or a person is in immediate danger then please dial 999."

A council spokesperson added: "We are aware of occupants forming an unauthorised encampment on land under the control of Totton & Eling Town Council since Friday 21 August. We are working with and assisting the police, Totton & Eling Town Council and occupants of the land to resolve the situation."
