CORONAVIRUS cases in Southampton have more than doubled in one week.

Data from Public Health England has revealed that, during the seven days to August 25, there were 21 recorded coronavirus cases in Southampton - a rise of 12 when compared to the nine recorded cases a week prior.

Cases have also increased in the New Forest with 15 recorded cases, compared to seven cases reported in the seven days to August 18.

Cases in Winchester have also gone up, with seven cases recorded during the seven days to August 25, an increase of four cases when compared to the figures a week prior.

However, in Eastleigh cases have gone down. There were two recorded cases during the seven days to August 25, down from five cases the week before.

Cases have also dropped in Test Valley, with three recorded case compared to the nine cases in during the seven days to August 18.

In Fareham, cases have dropped from nine during the seven days to August 18, to four cases recorded most recently.

Figures have risen in Gosport with seven recorded case in the most recent week, compared to no cases reported the week prior.

In Portsmouth, cases have also risen with 12 cases during the seven days to August 25 compared to eight the week before.
