POLICE have assured residents that they are investigating a spate of thefts from vehicles in a Hampshire.
Officers have attempted to reassure the public after New Milton residents took to social media to complain that police were failing to take action.
One person posted: "Really frustrating. Vans get broken into and police do not even show up. What's going on?"
Another social media user added: "It’s getting beyond a joke."
But other residents said they had seen police carrying out enquiries in several streets in the days following the offences.
A Hampshire police spokesman officers would continue to target the affected areas.
"Specialist officers have been on patrol in the area and enquiries with the victims are ongoing as we continue to investigate these incidents."
