WINCHESTER'S only music venue is hosting its first event since lockdown began – but there will not be an instrument in sight.

The Railway will swing open its doors for a micro beer festival between August 28 and 30.

It will feature beer and cider from Winchester's own Red Cat Brewery, Marstons, Meon Valley Cider, Ringwood Brewery and more.

Harry Madden of the Railway said: "Al fresco dining will be provided by Proven Slice, Winchester's newest and, in our opinion, best new pop-up dining experience.

"Featuring more than just pizza, their ingredients are sourced from Italy, then paired with the finest foods from Hampshire suppliers. Old world tradition, meets fresh and local.

"This event will be run strictly within the current COVID-19 guidance."
