TWO people have been rescued from a sinking boat.
Coastguard rescue teams scrambled to save two people from a boat in the Solent which was taking on water.
A helicopter, Hamble Lifeboat as well as teams from Hillhead, Gosport and Fareham, and Portsmouth all raced to the scene after receiving an emergency call at around 5.45pm last night.
Within 20 minutes Hamble Lifeboat took the two people to safety however, the boat was blocking a shipping lane.
The Fairey Huntsman was towed to shore with the rescue operation ending shortly before 11.30pm.
