A BEREAVEMENT charity is expanding its work locally.

Eastleigh-based Butterflies is launching a Romsey Bereavement Support Group at Age Concern Romsey, starting in October on a date to be announced. It will be on Wednesdays 11am - 1pm.

After months of meeting people virtually Butterflies is slowly opening up its support and friendship services across the area, whilst keeping to the guidelines given by Public Health. Face masks to be worn at all meetings.

The Winchester Friendship Group is starting on October 7, and meets Wednesdays at 2pm at Cross and Hamblin (CH Fabrics) on the High Street.

The Chandler's Ford and North Baddesley Bereavement Friendship Group starts in October at a venue to be announced.

Meanwhile the Bereaved by Suicide Group will continue to meet on Tuesdays at 7pm on Zoom.

The Walk in the Park is held on the first Sunday of the month at the Pavilion on the Park, Kingfisher Road, Eastleigh, at 11am followed by coffee.

Similar walks will be held in Romsey, Winchester, Southampton and Gosport, with details to follow soon. Additional groups being set up in Southampton, Winchester, Gosport, Fareham, New Forest.

Next month the first Butterflies Bereavement Centre will be opening in Pirelli Way, Eastleigh, and will serve the whole of the county.

The Butterflies Centre has excellent transport links, local parking, a private counselling suite, chill out area, a coffee and chat area as well as workstations for our volunteers and will also be home to many support groups, advice and information and our interactive centre.
