AFTER a busy week, there's nothing better than popping down to your nearest pub for some fish and chips.

Today is National Fish and Chip Day - the perfect excuse to treat yourself to the nation's favourite dish.

The day was launched in 2015 and normally takes place on the first Friday in June, but it was postponed due to coronavirus.

So, in honour of 'Fryday' September 4, here are the top three pubs in Romsey and Test Valley to tuck into some fish and chips, according to TripAdvisor.

1) Hunters Inn, Winchester Hill, Romsey

Not only is it the top pub, according to TripAdvisor, but you can buy scampi and chips here for £10.

If you're a fan of cheesy chips, the Hunters Inn offers this dish and even cheese chips with bacon bits.
