A ROAD has now been reopened after a closure following an alleged discovery of an unexploded object in a river.
Police had shut Bypass Road in Romsey due to an incident between The Cromwell Arms and A27.
One nearby resident told the Daily Echo that a suspected unexploded shell or bomb was found in the River Test next to the causeway.
Hants Roads Policing have wrote on social media: "Please be aware of a road closure on the A27/Bypass Road, Romsey due to an ongoing police incident."
However it has been reported that there are currently no delays to motorists.
Hampshire Constabulary have been asked to comment.
