TWO men are due to appear in court accused of dangerous driving following a five-vehicle crash which left a tanker driver with "potentially life-changing leg injuries" and another man seriously injured.
At 2.20pm on Friday May 24 last year a collision occurred on Matchams Lane in Christchurch between Raceway and Snowtrax involving a blue Mercedes, a black Mercedes, a red Toyota Yaris, a Yamaha motorcycle and a tanker carrying human waste.
The driver of the tanker – a 53-year-old man from Poole – was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to serious leg injuries, described as potentially life-changing.
The driver of the blue Mercedes – a 35-year-old man from Eastleigh – sustained serious injuries to his spine and leg and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment.
A 35-year-old man from Eastleigh in Hampshire has been issued with a postal requisition for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. A 26-year-old man from Southampton has been issued with a postal requisition for an offence of dangerous driving. They are both due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 15 September 2020.
