A PLUMBER from Southampton has made the semi-final of a national tradesperson competition.

Hannah Lewis has made the semi-final of the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2020 competition.

Hannah runs a company called Plumbingbird providing a gas, central heating, and general plumbing maintenance service in Winchester, Romsey and other surrounding areas

Screwfix say Hannah was selected her sheer passion for the trade, determination to succeed and demonstrating how she goes above and beyond the call of duty for customers.

The annual competition is run by home improvements company, Screwfix, with the winner receiving a trade bundle worth £20,000, consisting of tools, technology, and training.

Hannah said: “If I were to get through to the final, I would be over the moon and it would demonstrate that all of my hard work has paid off.

“I have been in the trade for 11 years now and I have several accolades to my name, but there’s no feeling quite like seeing the smile on my customer’s face when they have been in desperate need.

“It has been a challenging year and I’m delighted to get through to the next stage of the competition.”

The virtual semi-final is taking place from September 11, with ten tradespeople being selected to take part in a final where trade experts will interview the finalists and select this year’s winner.

The judging panel includes representatives from trade bodies and 2019 winner, Darren McGhee.

Danielle Sweet, Screwfix spokesperson, said: “From over 2500 entries, our semi-finalists have done incredibly well to get this far.

“Our competition is in its 11th year and each year the standard of entries is exceptional.

“I’d like to wish all of our semi-finalists the best of luck!”
