Emergency services have attended a suspected arson in Southampton.

Police and fire crews have been attending a fire at a domestic property on Millbrook Road West, Southampton since this morning.

Police are treating the fire as a targeted incident.

Officers remain at the scene to determin the cause of the blaze.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating after Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service reported a suspected arson at a property in Millbrook Road West just before 1am this morning (Friday, September 11).

"The front garden was set alight and damage was caused to the front door and a window.

"There were no occupants inside the address at the time.

"Officers remain at the scene today, conducting further enquiries. Anyone with concerns can speak to one of these officers.
"We’re treating this as a targeted incident and want to reassure the public there is no risk to the wider community.
"If you saw or heard anything suspicious, or you have any CCTV or dash-cam footage, please call 101, quoting reference 44200350719."

A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "Fire crews from Redbridge, St Mary’s and Beaulieu were mobilised at 00:50 this morning to a domestic property on Millbrook Road West.

"The fire was in a two-storey, semi-detached property, affecting the external fascia and soffits.

"The stop message came in at 01:38 and fire investigation will be on scene during the day to determine the cause.

"Police were also in attendance of this incident."
