The NHS Spitfire will be flying over Hampshire this weekend.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the iconic second world war plane will take to the skies with the first flight taking place over Devon and Cornwall.

The plane will, however, be taking off from Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex, meaning that it will travel over parts of Hampshire on it's journey.

As a result of poor weather conditions, the original plan to head to the Highlands in Scotland has been postponed and a new route has been drawn up over the South of England.

An exact route for the plane is not specified, but maps suggest it will be visible from Southampton, Isle of Wight and Winchester.

The plane has been on a range of flights recently, with flights taking place over the whole of Hampshire.

'Thank U NHS' is written on the wings of the plane and it raises money for the NHS by inviting people to donate so that their names can be written on the plane.

It is due to take-off from Goodwood at 10.30am tomorrow and will most likely be visible above Hampshire for the following 40 minutes, passing over the southern tip of Southampton.
