POLICE have arrested a 16-year-old boy after another youngster was assaulted at a Hampshire skatepark.

Officers were called to Manor Park in Aldershot at the weekend following an incident in which a 17-year-old suffered facial injuries.

A police spokesman said: "The victim sustained a laceration to his face and received hospital treatment. His injury is not described as life-threatening.

"The 16-year-old, from Aldershot, remains in custody at this time.

"Three other people were arrested on suspicion of affray. Two of them, both 17 and from London, have been released with no further action.

"A third male, a 17-year-old from Kempson, Bedfordshire, will face no further action in relation to the affray but has been released under investigation in relation to alleged possession of cannabis and an offensive weapon."

Neighbourhood Inspector Kirsten Troman added: "We appreciate that people will have concerns but we are treating this as an isolated and targeted incident.
