FIRE crews tackled a braze that broke out in an electricity sub-station.

Crews from three fire stations were called to the incident at Hamble Lane, Hamble, shortly after noon.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) spokesperson said: "We were called to a small fire in a substation in Hamble-Le-Rice.

"Five appliances from Hamble, Hightown and St Mary’s assisted by support vehicles were in attendance.

"Two breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation for smoke clearance were used. The stop message came in at 1.02pm."

A Hampshire police spokesman said: "We were called at 12.24pm by HFRS to reports of a fire at an electrical sub-station at Hamble Lane, Hamble.

"There was no requirement for police to attend."
