THE teenager who died after a moped crash in Southampton has been identified.
As previously reported, a 19-year-old victim was rushed to Southampton General after a collision at the junction of Kathleen Road and Botany Road.
He has now been identified as Daniel Richard Gale. His moped collided with a taxi on August 30.
Mr Gale was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead the following day.
An inquest opening heard that Mr Gale lived in Portal Road, Sholing.
A post mortem report by Dr Adnan Al Badri states the preliminary cause of death as severe head injuries.
Area coroner Jason Pegg adjourned the full inquest to May 21 2021.
