AN MP visited the Halford’s store in Hedge End to have a look at E-bikes.
Royston Smith, MP for Southampton, Itchen, visited the store last Friday to examine the E-bikes which he says are going to be important as residents return to work following lockdown.
Mr Smith said: “The government has included e-bikes in the cycle-to-work scheme, partly because they are excellent for less confident or able riders in hilly areas. “I would urge local employers to sign up to this scheme, so that their staff can have access to affordable bikes, be they the traditional mechanical models or these powerful electric versions.”
Simon Kirk, manager of the Halfords store said: “It was great to see a Southampton MP take such an interest in e-bikes, which we think will be right at the heart of the green transport revolution.”
