AUGUST'S mix of sunshine and showers has been good to National Trust gardens here in Hampshire, reviving floral borders, adding lustre to apple orchards, and refreshing the foliage of stately veteran trees.
September is a wonderful time to visit and to indulge in a little gardens therapy. The warm weather continues to linger, and the gardens are quieter too, allowing you to wander peacefully, or sit and soak up a beautiful view.
You should book your visit in advance, but there’s plenty of availability, especially mid-week. And from 18 September, you can opt to arrive without pre-booking and you will be admitted if there is capacity.
