A school in Romsey is advising students to self-isolate after a pupil tested positive for Coronavirus.

A year 7 pupil at The Romsey School, who has not been in since September 11, has tested positive for the virus.

Following government guidelines, the school has contacted Public Health England who advised that all those who have been in close proximity to the student should self isolate until September 28.

Executive Leader, Jonathan de Sausmarez, wrote in a statement on the school's website: "If you do not receive an email then this does not apply to your child.

"Siblings and wider family do not need to self isolate.

"We will continue to follow government guidance in order to safeguard our community during these challenging times.

"We will keep you up to date with any further developments."
