MORE than half of Southampton residents are viewing their homes in a more positive light than before lockdown, a new survey has revealed.

According to a new report from home security company Ring despite an exceptional amount of time spent at home this year, 55 per cent of people in Southampton have had a changed outlook on their homes than before the county went into lockdown.

The report, Home: A New Meaning, examines changing consumer attitudes towards homes and provides insight into how this sudden change in lifestyle has impacted the meaning behind the word "home".

Protecting their home is key for 56 per cent of people in Southampton, with 33 per cent saying they have given more thought to home appearance and 23 per cent considering its security.
