I WANT to congratulate Southampton City Council for taking bold steps towards a cleaner, healthier city.
It may take time for residents to appreciate the options of greener ways to travel, but I encourage those residents with cars to cut a few car journeys each week and try alternatives.
As a councillor pointed out in the recent seven-hour full council meeting, Copenhagen is great.
As the leader of the council pointed out, Copenhagen wasn’t great a few decades ago, but bold decisions were taken to massively improve the city.
If we are bold, we can massively improve Southampton.
It’s up to us residents to use the extra walking and cycling spaces that the council have given us, in order to improve our air quality and make Southampton a greener cleaner city.
