A DRIVER who drove with no insurance in Southampton is set to be more than £800 poorer.
Michael Becker, 56, of Wilton Avenue, Polygon, Southampton, was caught on December 30 without the legal cover when driving a 51-reg Mercedes on Bitterne Road West.
Becker was fined £660 with a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs, totalling £811, when his case was heard at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
He was not present but the case was proved under the single justice procedure.
Six penalty points were added to his driving licence.
