ANOTHER 44 positive coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire.
The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Hampshire increased by 44 over the last 24 hours.
As testing increases, figures from Public Health England have revealed that 5,985 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Tuesday in Hampshire, up from up from 5,941 the same time on Monday.
The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.
The rate of infection in Hampshire now stands at 433 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 680.
In Southampton, cases have increased by 12 in 24 hours.
The rate of infection in Southampton now stands at 452 cases per 100,000 people.
