SCENES like this are becoming increasingly difficult to remember in our minds - it's been a long while since we stood side-by-side with fellow fans to watch a football match, cheer on our team, and maybe even grab a cheeky pint at half time.

With this in mind the Daily Echo takes a look at some pictures of Saints fans from the past.

It was 20 years ago when Glenn Hoddle’s Southampton team finished their season with a 2-0 win against Wimbledon.

Two superb goals through Wayne Bridge and Marian Pahars ensured relegation for The Dons after 14 years in the top flight.

Saints finished 15th in the Premier League on 44 points after the victory which took place on May 14, 2000.

Then-club secretary Brian Truscott said: “As usual our supporters were magnificent. “They gave the side tremendous backing through the season.”
