A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy sparked a police investigation when he told his mum he had been "hit by a rock".
Shannon Smith “heard a thud” followed by her three-year-old son Oscar screaming outside Copenhagen Tower in International Way, Weston.
The youngster was treated by a paramedic at the scene on Thursday before being taken to hospital where doctors “cleaned his wound and glued his head”.
At first Shannon, 24, thought someone had thrown a brick at her son so called the police.
An investigation was launched to find those responsible, and Shannon called on any witnesses or for anyone with any information to contact the police.
However, on Sunday, the mum-of-two learned that “Oscar threw the brick up into the air” himself, before it hit him.
“I did throw it, mummy, I don’t want to go to jail," he told his mum.
Shannon added: “I was shocked but relieved.
“After explaining that if he was telling porky pies the policeman will probably find out and he will be in trouble”.
Despite his injuries Oscar is now “doing well”.
