The Wildlife Trusts organisation is asking people to complete sponsored walking challenges in October to help them in their aim of restoring 30% of the UK’s land and sea by 2030.
The Big Wild Walk fundraising project needs people to fundraise by completing walking challenges appropriate to their ability.
Their fundraising aim is £30 million.
Suggested walking challenges include; The Hedgehog (3km a day), The Arctic Tern (96,000 steps over the week) and The Nature Nut (walking a new nature reserve every single day of the challenge.)
Examples of 30 by 30 projects that money raised could go towards including restoring 50 hectares of lost peat-fenland at Bourne North Fen and the reintroduction of beavers to the Isle of Wight.
