Southampton man who assaulted woman in racial attack is fined
A SOUTHAMPTON man who assaulted a woman in a racist attack has been fined.
Ian Jones, 60, assaulted a woman in Southampton on February 29.
The court found the assault to be racially aggravated.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
Jones, of Latimer Street, Southampton, was fined £300 and ordered to pay compensation of £20.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £120.
