KANES Hill Primary School in Thornhill has unveiled two new Early Years areas designed to encourage resourceful children with curious minds.
The indoor and outdoor areas place an onus on imaginative play using natural materials.
A previously overgrown garden area has been transformed into the exciting, new outdoor space, which has three play sheds themed as a nursery, a maths shed and a role play shed. This area also houses a playhouse, mud kitchen and artificial grass lawn with wooden crates, planks, baskets and foam bricks to encourage children to build and create.
Natural resources also dominate indoors where a house/shop with pans, wooden tools, pine cones and stones for counting can be found.
Kanes Hill is part of Inspire Learning Partnership, a multi-academy trust with four schools in the area.
