ORGANISATIONS in Fareham are now able to apply for an extra grant to help with financial pressures due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
The one off payment of £250 is available for charities and voluntary groups.
Fareham council have launched the Covid-19 Special Grants programme for those who have struggled during the Covid-19 pandemic and not been able to access funding.
The council has secured £30,000 to enable 120 groups to receive funding. Council leader Sean Woodward said: “Whilst many of the larger community organisations with premises have benefitted from the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant, many smaller community organisations and voluntary groups have had no access to external financial support. We hope that this grant will help those smaller organisations meet some of the additional costs that the pandemic has caused them, such as loss of income, the provision of extra Personal Protective Equipment and cleaning materials.”
Applications can be made from October 26.
