TWO more coronavirus deaths have been recorded as infection rates continue to rise.

Figures released this afternoon by NHS England reveal one death was recorded at Southampton Hospital on Wednesday October 14.

A further death was recorded at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust on Monday October 12. Another death within the Trust on the same day has already been reported.

The latest deaths bring the total in Southampton to 201 and in the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust to 164.

NHS England revealed a further 86 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died in hospitals in England ikn the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 30,910.

The most recent patients were aged between 44 and 99 years old. All except two (aged 62 and 79) had known underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.

The highest number of deaths - 33 - were in the North West with 17 in the Midlands, 15 in the North East and Yorkshire, 11 in London, four in each of the south east and south west and two in the east of England.
